ST. PAUL, Minn. – Two of the Summit League's stingiest defenses meet Saturday at South Field, where St. Thomas (4-4-2) opens conference play against No. 8 Kansas City (6-1-2, 1-0-0) at 1:00 p.m. CT.

St. Thomas (4-4-2) fell 3-0 to Belmont (4-4-1) on Friday night at E.S. Rose Park in Nashville, Tenn., despite outshooting the Bruins 19-7. Belmont took a 2-0 lead into halftime and added an insurance goal in the 54th minute.
The Tommies pressed throughout and put six shots on goal, but Belmont goalkeeper Brody Sucher made six saves to keep them off the board. Williams, Nokken and Jacon each had multiple shots on goal. Krenc made three saves, all in the final 20 minutes, to keep the deficit at three.
Coach Jon Lowery
The 2026 season is Lowery's 15th as head coach of the Tommie men's soccer program. He coached his 200th game at St. Thomas in 2022 and is the longest-tenured men's coach in the Summit League.
Lowery was named the 2016 Division III National Coach of the Year. He is a two-time MIAC Tournament champion, three-time MIAC regular-season champion and three-time MIAC Coach of the Year.
He led the program's historic jump from Division III directly to Division I in 2021. In 2025, the Tommies reached a high-water mark for the D-I era, setting records in nearly every statistical category. They finished above .500 for the first time since the transition (7-5-5, 1-3-2 Summit League), scored more goals than ever (24) and allowed fewer than ever (22). Three players earned All-Summit League Second Team honors, and three earned All-Newcomer Team honors. They narrowly missed their first conference tournament appearance, tying nationally ranked Denver 1-1 in the season finale.
