Tommies open 2026 at home against the Beavers
ST. PAUL, MINN.- The St. Thomas women's hockey team (8-12-0, 3-11-0) opens 2026 half of season at home against the Bemidji State Beavers (5-12-3, 2-11-1) January 9th and 10th.
Friday's game will be played at Lee & Penny Anderson Arena at 5 p.m. Puck drop on Saturday is slated for 2 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Tommies return to the ice after not playing a real contest for 5 weeks. Their last game was played back on December 5th, 2025, at Minnesota.
The Purple fell in both games of the home and home series with the No. 3 Golden Gophers. St. Thomas fell 5-3 at home in game one. Freshman Whitney Horton tallied two goals in the loss, while JuliAnna Gazdik also chipped in a goal. The Tommies traveled across the river for game two, where they fell 4-1. Ellah Hause tallied the lone Tommie goal.
Strength in Numbers
As a team, the Tommies have totaled 17 power play goals through the first half of the season. Ilsa Lindaman and Ellah Hause lead the way with three powerplay goals apiece. Bartz, Boerger, Boreen, and Brown each have two.
WCHA Honors
The Tommies have received four weekly league honors so far this season. Rylee Bartz leads the way with two forward of the week honors.

WCHA Leader Board
As a team, the Purple sits third in the league in power-play percentage with a .274, shot percentage with .10 and face off winning percentage at .569.
Individually, Rylee Bartz is second overall in face-off wins/total face-offs with 244 wins out of 417, Ella Boerger is sixth with 241 wins out of 371 and third in face-off winning percentage with a .650.
Haley Maxwell is second in the league with 33 blocked shots; JuliAnna Gazdik and Ellah Hause are tied for fifth with 31.
DI Era Record Holders
Rylee Bartz (60), Ella Boerger (59), and Madison Brown (48) make up the top three in career points.
Ella Boerger (38), and Rylee Bartz (32), round out the top two in D1 era assists.
Rylee Bartz leads the Tommie offense with 28 goals in the D1 era.
Scouting the Beavers
Bemidji State currently sit 5-12-3 overall, and 2-11-1 in WCHA play. Most recently, the Beavers traveled out east to Merrimack College where they took game one 3-1 and tied (shoot out win) 2-2 in game two.
The Beavers are led by junior Hailey Armstrong who has tallied 10 goals and three assists on the season. Sophomore Morgan Smith has also recorded eight goals and chipped in seven assists.
In net, Kaitlin Groess has played in 14 games and has .891 save percentage while Ava Hills has played in nine games and a .900 save percentage.
History with the Beavers
The Tommies hold a 7-10-1 record against the Beavers over the past four seasons.
Most recently St. Thomas split the road series Nov. 7-8, 2025. In game one, the Purple posted a 5-0 shutout, with goals from Chloe Boreen, Jenessa Gazdik, Rylee Bartz, Ella Boerger, and Ilsa Lindaman. The Tommies fell 2-1 in game two; the lone goal came off the stick of Chloe Boreen, her second of the weekend.
