SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Former University of St. Thomas women's basketball standout Jade Hill (Minneapolis, Minn. / South) continues to make an impact on Tommie Athletics. On Thursday, the former guard and elementary education major was announced as the Summit League's nominee for the prestigious 2025 NCAA Woman of the Year Award. Hill is the first Tommie in the DI era to earn the conference's nomination for this honor.
Established in 1991, the NCAA Woman of the Year program recognizes senior female student-athletes for excellence in academics, athletics, community service, and leadership. To be eligible, nominees must have competed in an NCAA-sponsored sport, earned a varsity letter, and received their undergraduate degree by the summer of 2025.
A three-time All-Summit League honoree, Hill checked every box for both St. Thomas and the Summit League, excelling not only on the basketball court but in the classroom as well. Following her senior year in 2024-25, Hill graduated as the DI program record holder in career points (1558) and ranks third all-time in the stat. She also holds the program record for career assists (474), becoming the only player in program history to score over 1500 career points and tally 450+ assists. She averaged more than 10.0 points per game in each of her four collegiate seasons, the only member of the 2025 class to do so. As a senior, Hill started all 30 games for the Tommies, averaging 14.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.
Hill's accomplishments off the court were equally impressive. An elementary education major, she was a three-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoree and a four-year member of both the Summit League Academic Honor Roll and the Summit League Commissioner's List. She graduated this past spring with a 3.83 GPA and completed her student teaching in mid-June. Her impact on the community will be felt long after graduation. Throughout her St. Thomas career, Hill volunteered at Maxfield Elementary School in St. Paul, Minnesota, and participated in several other education initiatives across the Twin Cities.
Hill is the first Tommie to be selected by the Summit League as its NCAA Woman of the Year nominee. A conference may nominate up to two student-athletes from among its membership if at least one is an international student-athlete or a student-athlete of color. All conference-level nominees will advance to the Woman of the Year selection committee, which will announce the top 10 honorees in each division later this year. From those 30 finalists, the committee will select the 2025 NCAA Woman of the Year, to be announced in January 2026.
