Head coach Matt Rachey has released his team’s complete Fall schedule with four competitive tournaments on tap to begin the team’s first season eligible for national competition.

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Tommie men's golf team is ready to get going for the first half of their 2025-26 schedule with four competitive events scheduled across the Midwest. The Purple return to one invite from last fall with three new tournaments on the docket.

After a strong season in 2024-25 that proved the Toms belong on the DI stage with wins over top 100 programs and a program-best national ranking (#158). Coach Rachey is feeling confident about what his team can do this season, "Our core began to mature last season, we return this year with more experience, a stronger sense of belief, and a clear understanding of what it takes to reach the next level."

St. Thomas opens its fall schedule with a return to the Gopher Invitational at Windsong Farm Golf Course in Independence, Minn. on September 6-7. The Tommies placed 13 of 15 teams at last year's lid-lifter with a top 25 performance from Owen Rexing. The Gopher Invitational may prove to be the toughest competition on the fall calendar, "It consistently features one of the strongest fields in college golf with several top 50 teams in attendance. Competing at that level early in the season is a great opportunity for us to test ourselves and see where we stand nationally."

All other tournaments on the Tommies' schedule will be new to the Purple, "Our goal for this season was to give our team more exposure to different courses and styles of play across the country to develop 'golf games that travel,' a necessary trait for golfers on the collegiate and professional levels. Adding new tournaments and venues helps us do just that. These events will continue to elevate the standard of competition for our program as we prepare for a championship run in the spring."

First among the new events is the Bluejay Invitational hosted by Creighton University at Shadow Ridge Country Club in Omaha, Neb. on September 15-16. Followed by the Git-R-Done Invitational at Firethorn Golf Club hosted by Nebraska on September 22-23. Coach Rachey said of the event, "Firethorn Golf Club is a fantastic venue, and the tournament gives our team another opportunity to compete in a Big Ten environment."

The Tommies finish out their 2025 schedule with the three-day Shocker Invitational hosted by Wichita State at Sand Creek Station Golf Club on October 5-7. The individual medalist of the competition earns an exemption into the Korn Ferry Tour's Wichita Open.

St. Thomas' 2026 Spring Schedule will be released at a later date.
