St. Thomas men’s golf will compete in four fall tournaments and six spring events

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The St. Thomas men's golf team has announced its 2026-27 schedule as the Tommies prepare for their sixth season of Division I competition. The road to the 2027 Summit League Championship begins during the second week of September.

St. Thomas opens the season September 14-15 at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Kansas State in Manhattan, Kan. It will mark the Tommies' first trip to Kansas for the season-opening event won by the Wildcats a season ago. Last year's field featured Summit League programs; South Dakota State, Kansas City, South Dakota, and North Dakota.

One week later, the Tommies return to the Gopher Invitational, hosted by Minnesota, for the third season in a row. The 2026 tournament is scheduled for September 20-21. The Toms opened each of their last two seasons at Windsong Farm and look to improve on their past performances at the Gopher Invite.

Six days after the Gopher, the Toms have the Badger Invitational on the other side of the Minnesota-Wisconsin border. The University of Wisconsin hosts the event on Sept. 27-29 at TPC Wisconsin. St. Thomas has not attended the event in the past.

The fall season concludes with another novel competition, the Flyer Invitational hosted by Dayton at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio on Oct. 19-20. Illinois State and Butler won the event last season.

As the calendar turns to 2027, St. Thomas heads to the Sam Ryder Intercollegiate, hosted by Stetson, March 1-2. The Tommies will make their first appearance at the event, which is named for Stetson Hall of Famer and touring golfer, Sam Ryder.

Shortly thereafter, the Toms head back to the Babygrande Donald Ross Collegiate Classic on March 8-10. George Mason plays host to the competition at Mid Pines Inn & GC.

The Purple head back across the country to co-host the Bell Bank Collegiate with Minnesota at The Wigwam in Litchfield Park, Ariz., March 22-23.

Missouri hosts the Tiger Intercollegiate the first week of April (5-6) at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, Mo. The tournament represents the fifth first-time event for the St. Thomas men's golf team and the fifth hosted by a Power 4 program.

The penultimate competition of the season is one that the Tommies have had continued success at since first heading to Chambers Bay in 2024. SeattleU hosts the Redhawk Invitational April 19-20. The Toms' top returner, Tyler McNeive fired a career-best 68 at the event last season and Gavin Newkirk took sixth individually his freshman season.

The 2027 Summit League Championship will be held May 2-4 at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz. The Tommies finished sixth at last season's championship, led by returning Owen Rexing who finished in the top 10. Newkirk was the returner who recorded the best finish last season, 14th place.
