Baseball earns sweep of Milwaukee, defeats the Panthers 11-3

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- St. Thomas baseball hosted Milwaukee in game two of a non-conference midweek series. A five-run fourth inning lifted St. Thomas (24-20 overall, 16-8 Summit) to a Wednesday afternoon victory over Milwaukee (17-31 overall, 12-11 Horizon) at Koch Diamond.

Ben Vujovich opened the bottom of the first with a solo home run, giving the Tommies an early 1-0 lead. A five-run fourth frame then extended the Tommies' lead to 6-0.

Lucas McNellis posted his first collegiate home run in the bottom of the sixth frame. McNellis finished the game going 2-for-2, scoring three runs and posting two RBI.

St. Thomas recorded two runs in the seventh before Milwaukee scored its first runs of the afternoon in the top of the eighth.

Ben Vujovich responded with his second home run of the game, extending the Tommies lead once again to 11-3. Vujovich tallied four hits and added four RBI against the Panthers on Wednesday.

Jacob Mrosko recorded four strikeouts, not allowing a hit over three scoreless innings on Wednesday against the Panthers. Easton Bobb (1-5) earned his first collegiate win, posting three strikeouts over 4.0 innings.
