QUOTABLES
Men's Head Coach Pete Wareham:
"I couldn't be more proud of our team and how they competed this weekend. Between the men's and women's team, there were so many inspiring performances. I can't say enough about our senior leaders and how they have set a culture that is incredible.

"Our event coaches have done a fantastic job all year leading their groups. We have a great group of coaches.

"What stood out to me during and after the meet was the teamwork, competitive spirit and how those things produced strong results. We scored in 15 different events this year. This is double the amount compared to when we entered the league four years ago. A head coach from one of the competing schools told me we make the league better. That was nice to hear and surely our guys deserve a ton of credit."

Women's Head Coach Ashley Lucas:
"I could not be more proud of not only the 32 women we had compete this weekend at the championship but of everyone one of our women on this team. I speak often on the growth of this team, but that growth is still happening. Each month, each year, we get better.

"My first year here, I felt like the girls were just happy to be on the championship team and felt like they didn't quite belong. Last year when we hosted, they took a huge step forward and we had a lot of fourth and fifth place finishes. This year we wanted the podium and we got a lot of it. We had people score who weren't supposed to on paper. They all rallied around each other and truly fought to the finish for every point. Those seniors who bought in five years ago when they were getting recruited have truly left a legacy.

"To some who just look at results and don't really know track and field might think 'You're fifth again.' But to go from 19 to 43 to 71 to 101 team points is pretty dang remarkable."
