Tommies on the road for a four-game stretch
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The St. Thomas baseball team is set to play Minnesota in a midweek contest on Wednesday, April 9 at 6:00 p.m., before traveling to Fargo, N.D. for a Summit League weekend series against North Dakota State.

The Tommies hosted Northern Colorado in a Summit League series at Koch Diamond. The Tommies swept the Bears in the three-game series, moving to 10-1 in conference play.
Next up for the Tommies

• The Gophers hold a 7-1 record over the Tommies in the DI-era, including a win earlier this season on March 19 at U.S. Bank Stadium.

2025 Schedule
The Tommies opened the month of April in St. Paul, welcoming Summit League opponent Northern Colorado. The Tommies are set to play seven games at home and eight on the road throughout April.
St. Thomas will play nine of its final 12 games at Koch Diamond. The nine-game home stretch includes opponents from three conferences: the Big Ten, Horizon League and Summit League.
The Tommies will be on the road in Greeley, Colo. for the final series of the 2025 season, playing Northern Colorado.

In his 16th season with St. Thomas, Chris Olean has totaled an overall record of 401-245-1 (338-148-1 in NCAA Division III) since being named the head coach prior to the 2010 season. Olean hit the 400-win milestone against Northern Colorado on April 5.
Tommie Leaders
• Sophomore Tanner Recchio paces the Tommie offense in batting avg. (.383), hits (41), runs (31), total bases (54) and stolen bases (19).
• Senior Joe Vos leads St. Thomas with a 1.020 OPS, .582 SLG%, and nine doubles.
• Walker Retz leads the Tommies with a 3.60 ERA, totaling 34 strikeouts in 40.0 innings. Marcus Kruzan holds a 5-0 record, including four wins in conference play.
Tommie Offense
• The St. Thomas offense has exploded this spring, totaling 213 runs in 26 games played. In 2024, the Tommies recorded 307 runs through 46 games.
• 10 Tommies have combined for 22 home runs to start the season.
• With a .312 team batting average, the Purple leads the conference. Five Tommies rank in the top 10 in the Summit League in batting average.
Look Back at 2024
Last season, St. Thomas won its first Summit League championship in the DI-era. The Tommies finished with a 22-24 overall record (16-10 Summit League).
St. Thomas Baseball earned eight honors on the 2024 All-Summit League Teams, including seven returners: Max Moris (First Team), Brigs Richartz (First Team), Jacob Mrosko (Second Team) Evan Esch (Second Team), Matthew Maulik (Second Team) Tanner Recchio (Second Team), and Joe Roder (Honorable Mention).

• Chris Olean begins his 16th season with St. Thomas in 2025. He has totaled an overall record of 401-245-1 (337-148-1 in NCAA Division III) since being named the head coach prior to the 2010 season.
• Olean is a three-time NCAA DIII Region Coach of the Year and closed out its DIII era by winning championships in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) and region en route to a national runner-up finish and 37-10 record.
• During the last 12 DIII seasons the Purple won eight MIAC Championships, capped by third-place national finishes in both 2012 and 2014, in addition to the runner-up finish in 2021.
• Olean mentored seven DIII All-American pitchers. He was voted MIAC and Midwest Region Coach of the Year in 2012, 2013, and 2021. In addition, Olean works with the Tommie pitching staff, which was a perennial top-10 group in DIII baseball.
