Baseball earns shutout victory over Northern Colorado

Tommies defeat the Bears, 2-0
ST. PAUL, Minn. – St. Thomas baseball welcomed Northern Colorado to Koch Diamond for game one of a Summit League series. In the competitive conference matchup, St. Thomas (14-10 overall, 8-1 Summit) defeated Northern Colorado (8-19 overall, 3-7 Summit) on Friday afternoon, 2-0.
St. Thomas was the first on the board, opening scoring in the first frame. After a scoreless second, Ben Vujovich posted his fourth home run of the season, putting the Tommies up 2-0 through three.
Both teams saw strong pitching performances, as neither side scored the remainder of the game.
Joe Roder posted a multi-hit game and an RBI on Friday against the Bears.
Marcus Kruzan (5-0) and Zak Endres combined for a shutout performance against Northern Colorado.
In 6.0 innings of work, Kruzan allowed three hits and posted six strikeouts. Endres allowed one hit, totaling two strikeouts.
The last time the Tommies shutout an opponent was March 16, 2024 at Northern Colorado.
