Tommies host the Bears in three-game conference series
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The St. Thomas baseball team is set to host the Northern Colorado Bears from April 4-6. Game time is set for Friday, April 4 at 3:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6 at 1:00 PM.

The Tommies hosted Oral Roberts in the home-opening weekend at Koch Diamond. St. Thomas swept the Golden Eagles in the two-game series in St. Paul by scores of 3-2 and 8-2.
Next up for the Tommies
• The St. Thomas baseball team is set to host Northern Colorado in a Summit League series.
• The Tommies hold a 9-3 record, including a 4-2 home record against the Bears.
• St. Thomas won five of six contests against Northern Colorado a season ago.
2025 Schedule
The Tommies open the month of April in St. Paul, welcoming Summit League opponent Northern Colorado. The Tommies are set to play seven games at home and eight on the road throughout April.
St. Thomas will play nine of its final 12 games at Koch Diamond. The nine-game home stretch includes opponents from three conferences: the Big Ten, Horizon League and Summit League.
The Tommies will be on the road in Greeley, Colo. for the final series of the 2025 season, playing Northern Colorado.

In his 16th season with St. Thomas, Chris Olean has totaled an overall record of 398-245-1 (338-148-1 in NCAA Division III) since being named the head coach prior to the 2010 season. He is two wins away from reaching 400 victories as a Head Coach.
Tommie Leaders
• Sophomore Tanner Recchio paces the Tommie offense in batting avg. (.385), hits (37), runs (28) and stolen bases (16).
• In 19.0 innings of work, Riane Ritter has posted 28 strikeouts. Walker Retz leads the Tommies with a 3.55 ERA, totaling 31 strikeouts in 33.0 innings.
Tommie Offense
•The St. Thomas offense has exploded this spring, totaling 197 runs in 23 games played. In 2024, the Tommies recorded 307 runs through 46 games.
• 10 Tommies have combined for 20 home runs to start the season.
• With a .322 team batting average, the Purple leads the conference. Four Tommies rank in the top 10 in the Summit League in batting average.
Look Back at 2024
Last season, St. Thomas won its first Summit League championship in the DI-era. The Tommies finished with a 22-24 overall record (16-10 Summit League).
St. Thomas Baseball earned eight honors on the 2024 All-Summit League Teams, including seven returners: Max Moris (First Team), Brigs Richartz (First Team), Jacob Mrosko (Second Team) Evan Esch (Second Team), Matthew Maulik (Second Team) Tanner Recchio (Second Team), and Joe Roder (Honorable Mention).

• St. Thomas was selected to finish second in the Summit Preseason Poll.
Leading the Pack
• Chris Olean begins his 16th season with St. Thomas in 2025. He has totaled an overall record of 398-245-1 (337-148-1 in NCAA Division III) since being named the head coach prior to the 2010 season.
• Olean is a three-time NCAA DIII Region Coach of the Year and closed out its DIII era by winning championships in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) and region en route to a national runner-up finish and 37-10 record.
• During the last 12 DIII seasons the Purple won eight MIAC Championships, capped by third-place national finishes in both 2012 and 2014, in addition to the runner-up finish in 2021.
• Olean mentored seven DIII All-American pitchers. He was voted MIAC and Midwest Region Coach of the Year in 2012, 2013, and 2021. In addition, Olean works with the Tommie pitching staff, which was a perennial top-10 group in DIII baseball.
