Three members of Men’s Golf receive Summit League Honors

Armstrong, Rexing, and McNeive all honored with all-conference awards

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Three St. Thomas Tommies on the Men's Golf team received All-Summit League honors on Friday. Matthew Armstrong was named to the All-Second Team for the second time in his career. He was paired with Owen Rexing who landed a spot on the All-Second Team for the first time. Tyler McNeive put together a strong first-year campaign and was rewarded with a spot on the All-Freshman team. 
 
Owen Rexing led the Tommies with a 72.95 round scoring average across 21 rounds this season. He is tied for sixth in the Summit League with that average mark and has been at or under par six times this season. He has one top 10 finish in seven events. Owen set a new career single round low score at the Pay It Forward Collegiate with a 67 where he finished T-20th with a season-best 215 across three rounds. 
 
Matthew Armstrong finished second on the Tommies with a 73.04 round scoring average across 24 rounds this season. He is tied for sixth in the Summit League with that average mark and has been at or under par a team-leading nine times. His season highlight was a tournament title at the competitive SeattleU Redhawk Invite at Chambers Bay Golf Course where he shot a season low 66 enroute to a season low 206 to take home the hardware. 
 
Tyler has put together a productive freshman campaign with a 74.52 single round scoring average (3rd best on the Tommies). He has been at or below par six rounds this season. He has set and then matched his career low for a single round (71) five different times this season. He paired a couple 71's at the Throw Down Up Top for an 18th place finish, his highest of the season. His 218 at the Pay It Forward Collegiate was a career best. He was named one of the conference's top five freshman. 
 
Up Next 
The Toms wrap up their season with the Summit League Championship next week at Longbow Golf Course in Mesa, Arizona on April 27-29. St. Thomas looks to improve upon its best finish at the championship last season when it tied for fifth place.
