Baseball defeats North Dakota State in series opener, 7-1

Moris records four hits, two RBI in Friday’s win over the Bison
FARGO, N.D.– St. Thomas baseball traveled to North Dakota State for a Summit League series against the Bison. In game one, St. Thomas (17-11 overall, 11-1 Summit) gained the early lead. Holding the advantage the entirety of the game, the Tommies defeated North Dakota State (10-19 overall, 7-5 Summit) on Friday evening.
St. Thomas was the first on the board, scoring two runs in the opening inning.
After two scoreless frames, each team posted a run in the fourth inning. The Tommies added one in the fifth, holding the 4-1 lead through five.
Back-to-back RBI doubles by Ben Vujovich and Max Moris extended St. Thomas' lead to 7-1 in the top of the ninth. Keeping the Bison off the board, the Tommies earned the series-opening win.
Three Tommies recorded multi-hit games led by Max Moris. Moris went 4-5 with two RBIs in game one.
Marcus Kruzan (6-0) posted five scoreless innings and four strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work on Friday. Zak Endres tallied four strikeouts, allowing two hits over 2.0 innings. In the ninth, Max Skilbeck struck out two Bison to help secure the Tommies' Friday night victory.
