Women’s Hockey drops series finale to #2 Ohio State

Lindsay scores lone goal in 5-1 loss to the Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio. – The St. Thomas women's hockey team completed its weekend series, playing the No. 2-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. Four second period goals lifted Ohio State (23-6-3, 17-6-3 WCHA) to a victory over St. Thomas (8-20-2, 5-18-1 WCHA) on Saturday afternoon.
 
RECAP
Ohio State was the first on the board in the series finale. Capitalizing on the player advantage, the Buckeyes tallied a power play goal at the midpoint of the opening period. 
 
Maggie Malecha tallied 24 saves for the Tommies in the first 20 minutes of play, totaling 36 against the Buckeyes on Saturday.
 
In the second frame, Ohio State added four goals, as Sadie Lindsay recorded the lone goal of the game for St. Thomas.
 
With a scoreless third period, Ohio State defeated the Tommies 5-1 in the series finale.
