Summer camp registration open for Johnny Tauer basketball camps

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- St. Thomas Men's Basketball Head Coach Johnny Tauer has announced the program's 2025 summer youth basketball camp schedule, featuring multiple day camps and an overnight camp held on the campus of St. Thomas.

2025 Camp Schedule
Day Camps ($330)
- June 9-13 (Grades 4-9)
- July 7-11 (Grades 3-7)
- July 28-August 1 (Grades 4-9)
- August 4-8 (Grades 3-7)
- August 11-15 (Grades 3-7)
Overnight Camp
- June 22-25 (Grades 5-10)
- Commuter Camp: $375
- Residential Camp: $455
This will be Coach Tauer's 30th year of summer basketball camps at St. Thomas. He is currently in his 14th season as Head Coach of the Tommies and has led the program to sustained success during its historic transition from Division III to Division I.
Since joining Division I in 2021, the Tommies have averaged 16.8 wins per season, highlighted by a 19-win season in 2022-23, a 20-win season in 2023-24, and 18 wins so far during the 2024-25 season. St. Thomas has competed closely with nationally top-ranked opponents, including, No. 7 Marquette, No. 9 Creighton Cal-Berkeley, Arizona State, and Oklahoma State. Additionally, the program has secured wins in each of its Summit League Tournament appearances and is only the second transition team ever ranked among the top 100 in the NET Rankings.
Coach Tauer was inducted into the St. Thomas Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001. As a student-athlete, he was an All-MIAC player, first-team All-West Region, and Academic All-American, leading the 1994-95 Tommies to a school-record 27-0 start and an MIAC championship with a 20-0 record. As a coach, he held the highest winning percentage in the nation at the Division III level before St. Thomas' transition to Division I in 2021. Tauer holds a doctorate in social psychology with an emphasis on motivation, providing a unique blend of athletics and academics that shapes his coaching and camp philosophy.
Coach Tauer's camps emphasize fundamental basketball skills, along with discipline, work ethic, mental toughness, and teamwork in a fun and engaging environment.
