Bjerke, Dufault, Oosterbaan earn CSC Academic All-District honors

St. Thomas men’s basketball trio recognized for athletic and academic success in 2025-26
GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Redshirt-junior Carter Bjerke, graduate student Ryan Dufault and redshirt-sophomore Ben Oosterbaan each earned a spot on the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday. The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Bjerke, a finance major from Plymouth, Minn., makes his second appearance on the Academic All-District Team. He was a 2025-26 Summit Honorable Mention All-League selection and averaged 9.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. Bjerke shot 44.9 percent on 3-pointers and 49.5 percent overall through the season and became the program's DI-era career leader in total 3-pointers made with 200. He set the program's all-time single-game record with 10 3-pointers made Feb. 1 against Kansas City, also recording the program's 10th 30-point game since joining DI.
Dufault, finishing a graduate certificate in digital experience from Waseca, Minn., ends his Tommie career as the program's DI-era leader in games played with 131, missing just three games in his four-season career. He started nine games in 2025-26 and averaged 5.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.
Oosterbaan, a finance major from Hinsdale, Ill., makes his second appearance on the Academic All-District Team. He started all 34 games for the Tommies and averaged 7.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. He shot 49.8 percent from the floor and averaged 19.5 points per game during the 2026 Summit League Championship, scoring a career high 23 points during a quarterfinal win over South Dakota State and 16 points in the semifinal against North Dakota.
St. Thomas completed its season 24-10 overall as its season ended during the opening round of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) against Seattle U. It is back-to-back seasons the Tommies have totaled 24 wins, including three straight with at least 20 wins, while the team totaled three selections to the CSC Academic All-District Team for the second time since joining DI.
