Women’s Hockey travels to Ohio State for WCHA Playoffs

The Tommies face Ohio State in the first round of WCHA Playoffs
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The St. Thomas Women's Hockey team is set for WCHA playoffs, traveling to Columbus, Ohio for a best-of-three series against #2 Ohio State. Puck drop is set for 5:00 PM CT on Feb. 28, 2:00 PM CT on March 1, and 2:00 PM on March 2 (if necessary).

Last Weekend Recap
St. Thomas women's hockey faced Minnesota State in the final weekend of the regular season. The Mavericks swept St. Thomas, defeating the Tommies by scores of 8-3 and 3-0.
Head Coach Bethany Brausen
The University of St. Thomas Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Phil Esten announced Bethany Brausen as the next head coach of the Tommie women's hockey program.
Brausen brings a wealth of experience to the head coaching roll, serving as St. Thomas top assistant, active head coach and interim head coach since joining the program in 2021.
As the interim head coach in 2024-25, Brausen led the Tommies to their first sweep of a top-5 opponent, upending the #4 Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs.
Scouting the Buckeyes
The #2 Ohio State Buckeyes (25-6-3, 19-6-3 WCHA) are coming off a weekend sweep of #11 St. Cloud State to close the regular season.
Sophomore, Joy Dunne leads the Buckeye's offense with 47 points (21G, 26A) through 34 games played. Graduate student, Amanda Thiele holds a 16-5-2 record, recording a 2.18 GAA and .886 SV%.
