Women’s Hockey closes regular season with loss to Minnesota State

The Mavericks defeat St. Thomas, 3-0

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. – The St. Thomas women's hockey team hosted Minnesota State in the final game of the 2024-25 regular season. Minnesota State (13-19-2, 7-19-2 WCHA) recorded a goal each period, defeating St.  Thomas (9-23-2, 6-21-1 WCHA) on Saturday evening.
 
RECAP
Minnesota State opened scoring at the midpoint of the first frame in the series finale. Scoring early in the second frame, and once again in the final period, the Mavericks earned a 3-0 win over the Tommies.
 
In net, Dani Strom faced 36 shots and made 33 saves Saturday, her 15th 30+ save performance this season.  
 
Seniors, Maddy Clough, Lauren Stenslie, Rachel Golnitz, Alli Pahl, Maddie Jurgensen, Nicole Vallario and Calla Frank played in their final regular season contests at home.

St. Thomas finished the regular season placing seventh in the WCHA standings with a 6-21-1 record in conference play (9-23-2 overall).
 
Today's game marked the final game at St. Thomas Ice Arena for the Tommie Women's Hockey program.
