AUGUSTA, GA. – The University of St. Thomas football team and its punter, sophomore Elliot Huether (Minnetonka, Minn. / Benilde-St. Margaret) continued to receive postseason recognition. Earlier this week, Huether was announced as a semifinalist for the FCS Punter of the Year award.

A First Team All-PFL honoree, Huether is the first punter in program history to be nominated or selected as a semifinalist for the national award, which was established by the Augusta Sports Council in 2019. To be eligible for the award, punters are nominated by their institution's athletic communications or sports information director and are evaluated by the FCS Punter of the Year Award committee on their overall statistics and contribution to the team. Emphasis is placed on net punting average, percentage of punts inside the 20-yard line, and percentage of punts not returned.

Voting for the FCS Punter of the Year award will open December 4 and run through December 14. The winner of the award will be announced on Monday, December 15.
