Sophomore named Summit League Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The 2025-26 Summit League Preseason Player of the Year Nolan Minessale earned his first weekly award of the season and of his career after being named the Summit League Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Minessale, a native of Brookfield, Wis., continued his season-opening streak of 20-point games with three straight last week as St. Thomas men's basketball went 2-1. He averaged 21.3 points per game with another season-high 24, along with 6 rebounds and 4 assists, during the team's 84-72 win at Ohio Valley Conference preseason favorites Southeast Missouri State. Minessale's streak of 20-point games to start the season is at five, the longest such streak in the program since at least 2005-06, while he has scored at least 20 in six straight dating back to the 2025 Summit League Championship game in March.
Minessale shot 60.0 percent on the week, which began with 20 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds at Washington State before another 20 points and 6 rebounds during a win over Green Bay. He shot a combined 19-of-23 from the free throw line and averaged 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
The Summit League weekly award is the first for the program since Miles Barnstable on Jan. 6, 2025, the team's lone award of the season. Minessale is now one of four Tommies all-time to earn the Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honor, also joining Riley Miller (2021-22) and Parker Bjorklund (2022-23).
