Tommie basketball, hockey to host Field Trip Days

ST. PAUL, MINN. – The University of St. Thomas women's basketball and hockey teams, in partnership with the university's School of Education, will host the programs' first ever Field Trip Days this winter. The Tommie basketball team will host the first annual Field Trip Day on Wednesday, December 3, and the women's hockey team will host a Field Trip Day on Friday, February 6. All kindergarten through eighth grade students are invited to join the Tommies for these events.

Time: 11:00 a.m. tipoff (Doors open at 10:00 a.m.)
Location: Lee & Peny Anderson Arena (2115 Summit Avenue)
Tickets: $5

The Tommies first ever Field Trip Day will include a variety of activities for students, teachers, and chaperones alike, including a campus scavenger hunt, tour of Lee & Penny Anderson Arena, and a postgame meet and greet with Tommie and the women's basketball team. The first 500 registrants will receive a Tommie swag banner and be able to participate in the scavenger hunt.

Schools are welcome to bring boxed lunches to Lee & Penny Anderson Arena and participants are also welcome to purchase food at the concession stand.

FAQs

Bus Transportation and Parking
Schools need to provide their own transportation to and from St. Thomas. Parking details will be shared after tickets are purchased.

Logistics
Each school will be greeted by a volunteer who will meet Field Trip Day participants at their bus and escort them to their seats in Lee & Penny Anderson Arena. Volunteers throughout the arena will serve as a point of contact throughout the day. Each school will be assigned a specific section within Lee & Penny Anderson Arena.

Lunch Options
Schools are welcome to bring boxed lunches to Lee & Penny Anderson Arena for Field Trip Day. Students may also purchase food at the concession stand.

Early College Experience Scavenger Hunt
A 90-minute campus scavenger hunt designed to help kids explore various elements of college life and areas of study through visiting multiple university buildings. Scavenger hunt materials will be provided to interested schools and are designed for small groups to be led by the school's chaperons. Register early, as the scavenger hunt will only be available for the first 500 registrants. The first 500 registrants will receive a Tommie swag banner and be able to participate in the scavenger hunt.
