Summit League releases 2024-25 conference schedule

Tommie Men’s Basketball begins league slate Jan. 2 at NDSU, Jan. 8 hosting SDSU
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The St. Thomas men's basketball program has its sights set on another successful run in the Summit League, beginning with the 2024-25 league schedule as released Wednesday by the conference office.
St. Thomas opens Summit League play with a road trip, playing North Dakota State on Thursday, Jan. 2 and North Dakota on Saturday, Jan. 4. The Tommies' home opener is set for Wednesday, Jan. 8 against South Dakota State before hosting South Dakota on Saturday, Jan. 11 and Denver on Saturday, Jan. 18.
The Tommies then travel to Omaha on Thursday, Jan. 23 and Kansas City on Saturday, Jan. 25 before hosting Oral Roberts on Wednesday, Jan. 29. St. Thomas will face each Summit League school a second time with the regular season finale and senior day set for Saturday, March 1 against Kansas City in Schoenecker Arena. The Summit League Championships will be held Wednesday, March 5 through Sunday, March 9 at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The Purple finished the 2023-24 season 20-13 overall and 9-7 in the Summit League, earning a No. 4 seed in the conference tournament. The Tommies beat the Bison, 68-58, to advance to their second straight Summit League Semifinal. The Tommies boast the league's best home court advantage over the past two seasons, going 24-4 over that span.
Head Coach Johnny Tauer enters his 14th season as head coach of St. Thomas men's basketball after becoming the fastest to reach 250 careers wins in program history. St. Thomas saw six seniors and graduate seniors leave the program while three transfers and five true freshmen join in 2024-25.
