Complete 2024 Tommie Volleyball schedule released

St. Thomas to host Tommie Invitational, face Minnesota and Iowa during 28-match schedule
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- St. Thomas volleyball released its complete 2024 schedule Tuesday, which features a three-match non-conference tournament in St. Paul and two matches against Big Ten opponents as part of a 28-match slate.
"We are excited about our 2024 schedule," Head Coach Thanh Pham said. "Having two Big Ten opponents will certainly push and help us prepare for our conference season. I'm excited about hosting our home tournament over the second weekend as well. All the teams are high quality and will allow us to fine tune lineups as well as work in high pressure situations. As a staff we feel like this will be the toughest preseason schedule to date but will best prepare us for our Summit League schedule."
The Tommies begin the season and non-conference schedule August 30-31 at the CEFCU Invitational, hosted by Bradley in Peoria, Ill. St. Thomas will play a doubleheader Friday against Southern Indiana and Bradley before closing the tournament Saturday against DePaul.
The Purple and Gray return to St. Paul Sept. 5-7 to host the Tommie Invitational and will face Tarleton State Thursday for its home opener. The Tommies come back Friday against Valparaiso and Saturday against Northern Illinois. St. Thomas comes off its home tournament with a short trip to face Minnesota on Sept. 10.
St. Thomas closes its non-conference schedule with two tournaments, Sept. 13-14 at the Milwaukee Tournament against Illinois State and Iowa on Friday and Milwaukee on Saturday, and a doubleheader Sept. 20 against Chicago State and Green Bay at the Capital Credit Union Classic hosted by Green Bay.
The Summit League schedule begins Sept. 26 as St. Thomas hosts North Dakota State followed by a road trip Sept. 28 to face Omaha. The complete conference schedule includes 16 matches with St. Thomas wrapping up its season Nov. 14-16 against South Dakota and Oral Roberts in Schoenecker Arena.
Thanh Pham begins his 22nd season as head coach at St. Thomas in 2024. Primed with a starting cast of primarily underclassmen, the Tommies went on to set Division I era bests in overall and league win totals. Junior Ella Voegele earned the program's first ever Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honor following a DI era program record 33 digs in four sets and 8.25 digs per set. She set a DI single-season program record with 432 digs while sophomore Morgan Kealy set a DI best 668 assists and junior Tezra Rudzitis set a DI best .274 hitting percentage last season.
