Endres and Kruzan toss 6.0 scoreless innings, combining for five Ks on Saturday afternoon
FARGO, N.D. – After falling behind early in game two, the comeback bid was not enough as St. Thomas baseball (18-20, 12-7 Summit) fell to North Dakota State (15-25-1, 10-9-1 Summit) on Saturday afternoon.
North Dakota State earned an early 7-0 lead on Saturday at Newman Outdoor Field. After a scoreless third inning, Ben Vujovich recorded a 2-RBI single to put the Tommies on the board for the first time in the game.
St. Thomas scored four runs over three consecutive innings, coming within three runs of the Bison at the end of six frames. However, the comeback bid was not enough as North Dakota State defeated the Tommies 7-4.
Joe Vos and Tanner Recchio tallied multi-hit games, each recording a double in game two.
Walker Retz (2-3), Zak Endres and Marcus Kruzan combined for seven strikeouts in this afternoon's contest. Through the final 6.0 innings, Endres and Kruzan kept the Bison off the board, allowing just four hits.
