Tommies open series with 11-3 victory at North Dakota State

Esch throws 9 Ks in 6.0 innings while Moris and Gottschalk go 3-for-4 with two RBI
Led by three home runs in three straight innings, the Tommies gained a 7-0 lead through three frames in Fargo. Matthew Maulik, Joe Vos and Max Nyrop tallied homers in the opening innings, as Maulik recorded his team-leading sixth of the season.
Nyrop finished the day recording three RBI, two hits and one run.
The Tommie offense totaled 15 hits, led by Max Moris and Mikey Gottschalk who went 3-for-4, recording two RBI. Moris has now reached base in 18 straight games.
St. Thomas held North Dakota State to three runs across two innings in the series opener. Evan Esch (4-2) worked five scoreless innings, tying season-high nine strikeouts. Between the fifth and sixth innings, Esch tallied four Ks in a row.
Max Skilbeck and Carl Cano combined for five strikeouts, as Cano did not allow a hit in 1.1 innings of work.
