Eight Tommies earn All-Summit League honors

Tommie Baseball finishes regular season on top of the Summit League, earns eight conference honors
ST. PAUL, Minn. – St. Thomas Baseball earned eight honors on the 2024 All-Summit League Teams. Senior, Max Moris and junior, Brigs Richartz were selected to the first team. Senior, Jacob Mrosko, junior, Evan Esch, and freshmen Matthew Maulik and Tanner Recchio landed on the second team. Senior, Mikey Gottschalk and sophomore Joe Roder were named honorable mentions.
Max Moris earned a spot on the All-Summit League first team. Moris ranked first in conference play in putouts (224), second in CSB (7), third in hits (40) and fourth with a .364 batting avg.
Brigs Richartz was named to the All-Summit League first team. Richartz recorded 37 hits and six doubles, both which ranked in the top-10 in conference play.
Leading league play with a 1.93 ERA and .102 opponent batting avg., Jacob Mrosko was named to the All-Summit League second team.
Evan Esch started in six games, posting a 4-1 record against conference opponents, earning a spot on the second team.
Matthew Maulik led the Tommies in four offensive categories this season. The freshman ranked top-10 in Summit League play in RBI (26) and home runs (6), earning himself a spot on the Summit League second team.
Tanner Recchio was named All-League second team after an impressive freshman season. The second baseman recorded 16 stolen bases and six doubles in his first season in Purple.
In his first season in the Summit League, Mikey Gottschalk was named an All-Summit League honorable mention. Gottschalk ranked t-3rd in assists (62) in Summit League play. The senior played and stared in all 46 games this season, scoring 35 runs and recording a .409 OBP.
Joe Roder was also named an All-Summit League honorable mention as a first baseman. Roder started in all 26 league games, posting a .327 batting avg., 35 hits, .417 OB%, and four home runs in conference games.
The Tommies finished in first place in the Summit League after being selected last place in the preseason coaches' poll. They are not eligible to compete in this weekend's Summit League postseason tournament.
