Women’s Tennis travels to Nebraska for set of weekend matches

Tommies back on the road, playing Omaha and Creighton
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The St. Thomas Women's Tennis team travels to Nebraska to face Omaha and Creighton in a set of weekend matches. The Tommies are set to play the Mavericks on Saturday, April 6 and the Bluejays Sunday, April 7.
Last Time Out
The University of St. Thomas women's tennis team once again found itself in a tightly contested battle in Summit League play. The Tommies hosted South Dakota in their final home match of the 2023-24 regular season. In the dual between conference opponents, St. Thomas fell to the Coyotes 5-2 at Life Time.
Record-breaking Season
St. Thomas has started the 2024 season strong, recording an 8-10 record with three matches remaining.
The Tommies have set a new program win record in the DI era (8).
Yinong Ma (13-3 overall), Olivia Paradise (9-6 overall) and Caroline Lindahl (8-9 overall) lead the Tommies in singles play. Ma is the second Tommie of the DI-era to reach 10 wins in singles action in a single season. Marthe Degeorges was the first (10-6) to reach 10 wins during the 2023 season.
Spring Schedule
The Tommie Tennis spring season will consist of 21 matches, including seven at home. Summit League play began for the Tommies as they hosted nationally ranked Denver on March 2. The Purple will face off with six Summit League opponents this season, consisting of three home and three away matches.
The Tommies will be road warriors the back half of the season, playing the final seven of eight matches on the road. During this time St. Thomas will travel down to Louisiana and Mississippi to play four non-conference opponents.
