Tommies top Valley City State 6-3 in Monday matchup

Vos records multi-hit game, including fourth home run of the season

ST. PAUL, Minn. –  St. Thomas baseball hosted the Valley City State Vikings in a Monday match up. The Tommies (17-19, 11-6 Summit) defeated Valley City State (19-31, 11-13 NSAA) by a score of 6-3 in the first meeting between the two teams.  
 
Valley City State scored the first run of the game in the opening frame. After adding two runs in the second inning, St. Thomas held the lead the remainder of the game.
 
Four Tommies recorded a hit against the Vikings, led by Joe Vos who went 2-for-4 on Monday afternoon.
 
On his second hit of the game, Vos recorded a two-run home run to put the Toms up 6-3 in the seventh inning. Vos also tallied two runs for the Purple this afternoon. Max Moris recorded his 10th multi-RBI game against the Vikings.
 
The St. Thomas pitching staff combined for 12 strikeouts against the Vikings. Nolan Kemp and Wyatt Nelson (1-1) each recorded four Ks on Monday afternoon. This is the third time this season Nelson has records four strikeouts out of the bullpen.
