Baseball drops series finale at SEMO

Taxdahl records his first home run of the season in Tommies’ 10-3 loss to the Redhawks.

Cape Girardeau, Mo. -- The St. Thomas baseball team dropped the series finale against the Redhawks. SEMO scored in each of the first five inning, including five in the fifth to defeat the Tommies on Sunday afternoon.
 
RECAP
SEMO took the early lead and posted the Redhawks first multi-run lead of the series, scoring two in the first inning.
 
In the top of the second, Max Moris recorded his fourth RBI of the weekend, driving home Max Nyrop and cutting SEMO's lead in half.
 
The Redhawks recorded a run in each of the next three innings and kept the Tommies off the board, extending their lead 5-1 at the end of four innings.
 
In the top of the fifth, St. Thomas began the close the gap, led by a two-run homer from Ben Taxdahl. However, SEMO recorded a five-run fifth inning to extend to its lead once again, 10-3.
 
Neither team scored the remainder of the game, and the Redhawks earned a win over the Tommies in the final game of the series.
 
The St. Thomas pitching staff combined for eight strikeouts over nine innings in today's game.
