Softball loses final game of Kajikawa Classic to Wisconsin

The Tommies were held to just one hit on the offensive side of the ball and could not come back from a seven-run Wisconsin second inning.
TEMPE, Ariz. – The University of St. Thomas Softball team (0-5) could not get their first win of the season in the final game of the Kajikawa Classic and lost to the Wisconsin Badgers (4-1), 8-0 in five innings.
The Toms' only base hit in the ballgame was a Laken Lienhard single with one out in the first inning. Ella Cook and Marleigh Louvar each got on base via a walk.
Wisconsin native, Morgan Klein, worked a perfect first inning for the Tommies but fell into some trouble in the bottom of the second inning. The sophomore gave up five runs on four hits, one walk, and one error. Christina Crawford pitched the rest of the way. She gave up three runs on five hits and two walks with two strikeouts.

The Tommies head down to Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the Easton Bama Bash where they will play two against Southern Indian, two against #14 Alabama, and one against Virginia. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. CST on Friday, February 16.
