Women’s Hockey falls to #2 Ohio State in overtime

Strom tallies 39 saves against the Buckeyes
MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. – The St. Thomas women's hockey team hosted the No. 2-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes for game two of a WCHA weekend series. After a scoreless 60 minutes, Ohio State (11-2-2, 6-2-2 WCHA) scored the game-winner in overtime to defeat St. Thomas (4-5-1, 2-5-1 WCHA) on Saturday afternoon.
RECAP
It was a scoreless 60 minutes of regulation hockey at Saint Thomas Ice Arena in the Saturday series finale.
The Tommies went on the power play in each of the frames this afternoon, however, could not capitalize on the player advantage.
Ohio State went on two power plays of its own, including one at the end of regulation. As the Tommie penalty kill successfully defended Ohio State's power play to end the third period, the Buckeyes began overtime with a 4-on-3 advantage. Ohio State scored the game's lone goal 21 seconds into the overtime period, earning the 1-0 victory over the Tommies.
Dani Strom finished the game totaling career-high 39 saves against the No. 2- ranked Buckeyes.
