Softball publicizes 2025 National Signing Day class

Coach Jen Trotter has signed a solid class of four student athletes, including two from Minnesota and two from Wisconsin

St. Thomas Softball's head coach Jen Trotter announced the 2025 National Signing Day class. 
 
The signing class features four student-athletes, including two from Minnesota and two from Wisconsin.

High School
Brier has been named First-Team All-Big Rivers Conference two times, Second-Team All-Big Rivers Conference once, First-Team All-District two times, and honorable mention All-State two times. She has also been a consistent name listed on the A Honor Roll at New Richmond High School. 
 
Personal
Brier is the daughter of Brian and Meagan Blietz, she has two siblings, Makenna and Berkley. She is planning on majoring in exercise science. 
 
Madlin "Maddy" Freking (SS, 6-0, Anoka, Minn., Anoka)

"We fist pumped when Maddy committed. She is a long and athletic shortstop with tremendous game savvy. She will be a fantastic addition to our team next fall." 
 
High School
While playing for Anoka High School, Maddy has been named All-Conference, All-Section, and All-State. She has also been a regular member on the honor roll. 
 
Personal
Maddy is the daughter of Richard and Jessica Freking and has three siblings, Evan, Ella, and Matthew. She played in the Little League World Series representing the Midwest back in 2019. Freking is planning to major in nursing.
 
Gracie Konkol (Utility, 5-4, Fond Du Lac, Wis., St. Mary's Springs Academy)

"We are very happy that Gracie is going to be a Tommie! She is athletic and quick and will add much needed depth to our middle infield." 
 
High School
Gracie was a multi-sport athlete at St. Mary's Springs Academy. She played basketball and was named second-team All-Flyway Conference for her play on the court. She is also a very successful softball player. She was named: First-Team All-Flyway Conference in 2022, All-District honorable mention, and Team MVP. She was also named First-Team All-Flyway Conference in 2023, First-Team All-District, WFSCA First-Team All-State and Team MVP. In the 2024 softball season she was First-Team All-Flyway Conference, First-Team All-District, Second-Team All-State and Team MVP. Konkol is also a member of the National Honor Society and six-time selection to the Honor Roll. 
 
Personal
Gracie is the daughter of Kurt and Jackie Konkol and has one sibling, Samantha. Her father, Kurt, played basketball at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. She is planning on majoring in exercise science. 
 
Mya Tautges (Pitcher, 6-0, Brainerd, Minn., Brainerd)

"Mya is freakishly athletic. She is a lefthanded big bat and is going to make quite an impact in the circle for our program!" 
 
High School
Not only is Mya a phenomenal softball player, but she also holds the Brainerd High School record for the 50m and 100m Freestyle, a four-time All-Central Lakes Conference selection and a one-time All-State selection in the pool. She is a two-time All-Central Lakes Conference selection in basketball as well. In softball, she also holds the school record for most strikeouts in a game and most strikeouts in a season. Mya was named All-Central Lakes Conference two times, All-Section three times, and First-Team All-State in 2024. She was named Team MVP in 2023 and 2024. 
 
Personal 
Mya is the daughter of Peggy and Robert Tautges and has four siblings, Eli, Joze, Emma, and Olivia. Her sister, Olivia currently plays softball for the College of Saint Benedict and sister, Emma currently plays softball at Upper Iowa. She is a triplet (Eli and Joze) with two twin sisters (Emma and Olivia).
