Boreen leads the Tommies with seven points in eight games played, including a four-game point streak to begin the season.

Record Setters
Last season, the Tommies set a DI era scoring record, totaling seven goals in a single game twice this season. 17 skaters scored goals for the Tommies, led by Ella Boerger, who found the back of the net 11 times. Boerger's 11 goals also set a record of goals scored in a single season.

In 37 games played, Boerger (11G, 13A – 24P), Bartz (10G, 13A – 23P), Nicole Vallario (5G, 10A – 15P), and Maddie Brown (6G, 8A - 14P) all passed the DI single season record in points scored for the Tommies.  The previous record was 13 total points set by Maddy Clough (2022-23 season).

Bartz, Boerger, Vallario and Maddy Clough also surpassed the single season record in assists (previously 8), and Bartz tied record for power play goals scored in a single season (3).

Scouting the Buckeyes
The #2 Ohio State Buckeyes (9-2-2, 4-2-2 WCHA) are led by Nadine Muzerall in her ninth season with the program. Coach Muzerall has led the team to two NCAA championships (2022, 2024), five Frozen Four appearances and six NCAA Tournament appearances.

A trio of Buckeyes earned this week's WCHA honors after Ohio State swept non-conference opponents in the Ice Breaker Tournament. Joy Dunne was named the Forward of the Week, as Minnesota natives Emma Peschel earned Defender of the Week and Josie St. Martin picked up the Rookie of the Week honor.

Sophomore forward Joy Dunne was also named to the Preseason All-WCHA team.

WCHA Pre-Season Poll
Tommie Women's Hockey was picked to finish sixth in the eight-team WCHA preseason poll, voted on by league head coaches.

Last season's national runner-up Wisconsin was selected among league head coaches to win the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's 2024-25 regular season title. The top four teams in the poll qualified for the NCAA Tournament last year.
