In Saturday's 3-2 victory, Chloe Boreen recorded a goal in the first minute while Madison Brown scored in the final 22 seconds to lift the Tommies over the Mavericks.

Leading the Tommie offense so far this season, Boreen posted her second three-point weekend to begin her freshman season.

WCHA Weekly Honors
In her Tommie Hockey debut, Chloe Boreen recorded three points in a weekend sweep against the Post Eagles. The first-year was named WCHA Rookie of the Week for her strong performance over the weekend, the first Tommie to receive a weekly honor this season.

Boreen Scoring Streak
Leading the St. Thomas offense with six points, including two multi-point games, first-year Chloe Boreen is the lone Tommie to have recorded a point in all four contests to start the season.

Record Setters
Last season, the Tommies set a DI era scoring record, totaling seven goals in a single game twice this season. 17 skaters scored goals for the Tommies, led by Ella Boerger, who found the back of the net 11 times. Boerger's 11 goals also set a record of goals scored in a single season.

In 37 games played, Boerger (11G, 13A – 24P), Bartz (10G, 13A – 23P), Nicole Vallario (5G, 10A – 15P), and Maddie Brown (6G, 8A - 14P) all passed the DI single season record in points scored for the Tommies.  The previous record was 13 total points set by Maddy Clough (2022-23 season).

Bartz, Boerger, Vallario and Maddy Clough also surpassed the single season record in assists (previously 8), and Bartz tied record for power play goals scored in a single season (3).

D-Core
Of eight St. Thomas defense, six are returning from last season's roster. Returners to the Tommie D-Core include seniors, Maddy Clough, Rachel Golnitz, Alli Pahl and Nicole Vallario; junior, Haley Maxwell; and sophomore, Ellah Hause.

The group is joined by first-years Lauren Karl and Cailin Mumm.

Scouting the Bulldogs
The No. 5-ranked Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs (3-3-0, 2-2-0 WCHA) are led by Laura Schuler in her first season as Head Coach of the Bulldogs.

The series against St. Thomas will be the first home games for the Bulldogs this season. In the six-game road stretch, UMD has faced three top-7 opponents, including four contests against a top-ranked opponent.

WCHA Pre-Season Poll
Tommie Women's Hockey has been picked to finish sixth in the eight-team WCHA preseason poll, voted on by league head coaches.

Last season's national runner-up Wisconsin is picked among league head coaches to win the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's 2024-25 regular season title. The top four teams in the poll qualified for the NCAA Tournament last year.

Schedule Talk
St. Thomas opened the season hosting non-conference opponent Post on Oct. 4-5, as the Tommies and Eagles met for the first time.

The Tommies host the reigning National Champions, Ohio State from Nov. 1-2. St. Thomas will remain at home the next weekend playing Lindenwood, before three consecutive road trips to Bemidji State, Wisconsin and Nashville.

The Tommies travel to Tennessee to play in the Smashville Showcase over Thanksgiving weekend. St. Thomas is set to play Clarkson on Nov. 29 and Penn State or Merrimack the following day. The Smashville Showcase will mark the final non-conference games of the season, as St. Thomas will compete against WCHA opponents the remainder of the season.

St. Thomas ends the first half of the season hosting Minnesota Dec. 6-7, and opens the second half at Ridder Arena from Jan. 10-11. The Tommies wrap up the regular season with a home-and-home series against Minnesota State, playing the series finale at Saint Thomas Ice Arena on Feb. 22.
