Tommies finish in eighth place out of 14 teams at the Iowa Fall Classic
RIVERSIDE, Iowa – Sophomore Owen Rexing (+4) led the charge by shooting an even par during the final 18 holes of the event to share 19th place with teammate Matthew Armstrong (+4) in a field of over 70 athletes as the Tommies finished 54 holes in eighth place of 13 teams at the Iowa Fall Classic at Blue Top Ridge Golf course in Iowa.
Coach Matt Rachey's Tommies carded a 297 (+9) on Wednesday and finished 10 strokes out of the top five teams. Ultimately Iowa State (-4) came out with the team victory as Iowa (-2) was the only other team to finish out under par.
Glavine Schugel (70 -2 / 75 +3 / 77 +5 / 222 +6), Gavin Newkirk (71 -3 / 78 +6 / 75 +3 / 224 +8), and Matthew Garside (74 +2 / 80 +8 / 75 +3 / 229 +13) rounded out the Tommie lineup.
