Tommie Baseball earns 2022-23 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The St. Thomas baseball program continued its start within NCAA Division I with back-to-back ABCA Team Academic Excellence Awards for its achievements during the 2022-23 academic year, as announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association on Wednesday.
During the past year, the Tommies surpassed a 3.0 team grade-point-average to qualify as one of three Summit League teams honored with the award. Overall, over 450 collegiate programs and 130 from NCAA Division I were recognized with this year's award.
Tommie Baseball recently had nine selections to the Summit League Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence and 21 to the Summit League Academic Honor Roll.
The American Baseball Coaches Association has a long tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes. The ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams are the nation's oldest, founded in 1949, and the ABCA's awards program also includes the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Awards, the ABCA/ATEC Regional & National Coaches of the Year and several other major awards such as the ABCA Hall of Fame and the Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.
