Women' Track and Field is repeat honoree for academics

St. Paul, Minn. -- The St. Thomas Women's Track and Field was a repeat honoree on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award for 2022-23.
Coach Ashley Lucas' squad compiled a 3.45 grade-point average for the 2022-23 year. That ranked it in the top half of nearly 250 Division I women's programs recognized.
The Tommies' team academic resume includes three athletes with 4.00 gpas, and 16 others with gpas above 3.70.
In season two of competition in Division I, the Purple improved to fifth place in the Summit League outdoor meet, with 35 of the 43 team points scored by the Purple coming from freshmen or sophomores in eligibility. In 16 of 21 events this outdoor season, the Toms improved on their best 2022 times and marks.
