Kemp tosses eight strikeouts as St. Thomas falls to No. 24 ORU, 11-2

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Thomas baseball team fell 11-2 in game two of a three-game series against No. 24 Oral Roberts on Saturday at Koch Diamond.
 
Nolan Kemp (0-3) started on the mound for the Tommies and allowed just one run over the first four innings. He exited the game with one out in the sixth inning, finishing with a career-high eight strikeouts.
 
Following the Golden Eagles' first run in the first inning, Dylan O'Connell doubled to left field to set up an RBI single by Charlie Bartholomew to tie the game, 1-1.
 
The Tommies put two runners on in each of the second and seventh innings but came away empty handed. Brigs Richartz tripled with one out in the eighth inning and came home two batters later on a wild pitch.
 
The Golden Eagles scored in each of the final five innings to seal the game and the series over the Tommies. St. Thomas and Oral Roberts finish the series at 1 p.m. Sunday from Koch Diamond.
