Women's Hockey has four Academic All-District honorees

St. Paul, Minn. -- Tommie Women's Hockey has four recipients of 2022-23 Academic All-District awards in the Women's At-Large category. The awards are sponsored by the College Sports Communicators.
Student-athletes with a 3.50 or better cumulative grade-point average and who played in 50 percent or more of competitions can be nominated, although first-year transfers and freshmen are not eligible.
St. Thomas players recognized were fifth-year Anna Solheim; and seniors Maija Almich, Luci Bianchi and Allie Monrean.
Almich, a native of Lino Lakes, Minn., is a Mechanical Engineering major and multiple-time Dean's List honoree. She was a finalist this spring for WCHA Student-Athlete of the Year. In her four-year Tommie college hockey career, Almich finished with 14 goals and 15 assists in 103 games. That included four game-winning goals, all last season.
Bianchi, a Bloomington, Minn., native, is an Exercise Science major and multiple-time Dean's List honoree. In her four-year Tommie college hockey career, Bianchi finished with 12 goals and 12 assists in 91 games. That included two game-winning goals.
Monrean, an Anchorage, Alaska native, is a Nursing major and multiple-time Dean's List honoree. In her four-year Tommie college hockey career, Monrean finished with 13 goals and 10 assists in 82 games. That included three game-winning goals.
Solheim, a Shoreview, Minn., native, studied Business Analytics in graduate school this year, and as an undergrad was an Operations and Supply Chain Management major and multiple-time Dean's List honoree. She played on the Tommies' 2018-19 national semifinal playoff team as a freshman. Her 133 games played -- including a Covid season limited to just eight games in 2020-21 -- set a new program record. Over her five-year Tommie college hockey career, Solheim contributed 24 goals and 33 assists in 133 games. That included seven game-winning goals.
