Tommie Baseball falls in series finale at Oral Roberts, 8-2

Tulsa, Okla. -- Freshman Colin Lewandowski's two-RBI triple set up a comeback for St. Thomas Baseball before an 8-2 loss against Oral Roberts during the series finale of the Summit League opening weekend.
After Oral Roberts scored five runs in the bottom of the second inning, St. Thomas answered back behind Lewandowski's second career hit in the top of the fourth.
Lewandowski, making his first career start hitting seventh and fielding third, followed Ben Vujovich and Dylan O'Connell who reached base on a walk and single, respectively, to start the inning. Following a sacrifice bunt to move the pair, Lewandowski sent a two-out triple to left center field to draw within three, 5-2.
The Tommies had multiple runners in scoring position following the two runs in the fourth inning but left two baserunners stranded in each of the fifth and eighth.
Duke Coborn (0-1) threw 7.2 innings during his first start of the season, including allowing just two baserunners between the fourth and seventh frames. He finished with five strikeouts and allowed just one walk.
The Golden Eagles added their final three runs behind four hits and one Tommie error in the bottom of the eighth inning to seal the game.
ORU totaled 14 hits to the Toms' eight while both teams left seven runners stranded through the game.
St. Thomas is back on the road for a two-game, non-conference series at Kansas State on March 21 and 22.
