Women's Tennis has Friday-Saturday matches in Iowa

St. Paul, Minn. -- St. Thomas Women's Tennis is back in action Friday afternoon in Waterloo, Iowa at the Black Hawk Tennis Center to face the University of Northern Iowa. Match time is 4 p.m.
The Tommies face Southern Illinois-Edwardsville Saturday at the same facility at 11 a.m. to close out the trip.
Northern Iowa, 1-6-1 so far this season, returns five players from 2021-22. Last season, the Panthers scored a 6-1 victory over the Tommies en route to a five-win season.
SIU-Edwardsville is 4-1 on the young season, including a win over Bradley. The Cougars went 16-5 last season, and return four players from that squad.
Last weekend, the Tommies (0-3) opened their dual-meet season and lost three competitive contests: 4-3 to Bradley; 6-1 to Drake; and 4-2 to Minnesota
Transfer Marthe Degeorges and fifth-year Olivia Paradise won at first and second singles to lead the Tommies against Bradley. Newcomer Naisha Srivastav also was victorious at sixth singles.
Nicole Snezhko and Monterey Knewtson won at third doubles against Bradley and won at second doubles against Drake. Emme Johnson and Jannah ElNemr won 6-4 at third doubles vs. Drake.
