Roos score with 17 seconds left to take down the Tommies who led at the half.

KANSAS CITY, MO. – The University of St. Thomas Women's Soccer team (2-5-4) lost in heartbreaking fashion to the Kansas City Roos (2-4-7) after conceding a goal with 17.7 seconds remaining at the Durwood Soccer Stadium on Thursday night. 
 
The Roos scored two unanswered goals in the final frame after the Tommies led heading into the break.

St. Thomas' offense did its best to work through one of the best defenses in the Summit League with just one shot in the first 20 minutes if the match. That first shot came off the boot of Lexi Huber who went evaded multiple defenders while cutting in from the corner to beat the keeper.

At halftime the Tommies led on the scoreboard (1-0) and in shots on goal (4-0). 
 
The second half was similar to the first with both defenses' abilities on display. The Toms did not get a shot towards the net for thirty minutes. 
 
Kansas City scored two goals in the final 14 minutes to secure the victory.

  • Camryn Rintoul's helper was the first of the season for the junior
  • Junior, Lexi Huber's first half goal was the second of the year
  • Kendall Quall played in all 90 minutes for the eighth game in a row, a streak that dates to August 27
