Men's Golf wraps up Big O Classic in ninth place

The Tommies carded a collective 300 on the final 18
OMAHA, Nebraska – Despite some strong individual performances, St. Thomas dropped from 8th place to 9th on day two at the Big O Classic. The Toms' finished with a three-round score of 897, and despite finishing in ninth, they ended only nine strokes out of the top five.
There were some positives for the Tommies, however. The team ended with 161 pars throughout the two-day tournament, including 40 from Owen Rexing, which was good for third most behind only North Dakota and Creighton. Freshman Gavin Newkirk recorded his first collegiate eagle as well on Monday.
Matthew Armstrong continued his impressive two-day stretch, finishing the final 18 holes with a 74 (+2). Will Frazier led the charge for the Tommies on Tuesday, finishing the tournament with an impressive 73 (+1) during the final round.
Along with Armstrong and Frazier, Owen Rexing (78 +6 | 70 -2 | 77 +5 | 225 +9), Gavin Newkirk (74 +2 | 82 +10 | 76 +4 | 232 + 16) and Glavine Schugal (80 +8 | 76 +4 | 78 +6 | 234 +18) rounded out the Tommie lineup.
