Olivia Rowe saves five shots in a loss to the Jackrabbits

BROOKINGS, S.D. – It was a strong effort Sunday afternoon for the Tommies at the Fishback Soccer Park as St. Thomas fell to the Jackrabbits, 3-0 on the road.
 
St. Thomas was outshot by South Dakota St. (16-9). Olivia Rowe saved 5/8 shots on goal for the Tommies. The Jackrabbits continued their regular season home winning streak to 43. 
 
RECAP
St. Thomas stormed onto the field with intensity, firing their opening shot 29 seconds into the match. The Jackrabbits countered with an attempt that veered slightly off target. The Tommies' next opportunity came almost seven minutes later. St. Thomas continued to press forward, creating chances at a consistent pace, tallying five shots in the first 20 minutes.
 
In a seesaw battle, South Dakota State managed to break through first with a goal at 33:30. Despite St. Thomas leading in shots (6-4), the Tommies found themselves trailing 1-0 as they headed into halftime. Emma Fournier and Camryn Rintoul led St. Thomas' offensive effort with five shots combined in 45 minutes of action.
 
To begin the second half, the Jackrabbits launched a shot in the first 20 seconds. South Dakota St. upped their offensive aggression with another shot a couple of minutes later. The Tommies imposed a shot of their own which was off target. Olivia Rowe displayed her goalkeeping excellence with back-to-back saves near the 60-minute mark.
 
Eventually, the Jackrabbits offense overwhelmed St. Thomas by scoring a goal at 67:32. With roughly 20 minutes left, South Dakota's offense was outshooting the Tommies (9-1) in the second half. At 74:03, the Jackrabbits scored another goal making it 3-0. St. Thomas continued to fight until time had finally expired on the Tommies resulting in a 3-0 loss.
