Junior Carter Maack lowered his own school record in the 110 high hurdles by .13 of a second with a first-place clocking of 14.42 to highlight the St. Thomas Men's Track and Field showings at the Tommie Twilight meet at O'Shaughnessy Stadium. 

Thirteen teams had athletes competing in the non-team scored meet on a beautiful May afternoon and evening.

- Junior Carter Maack broke his own school record by .13 of a second as he clocked 14.42 for first place to highlight the St. Thomas Men's Track and Field showings at the Tommie Twilight meet at O'Shaughnessy Stadium. 

Thirteen teams had athletes competing in the non-team scored meet on a beautiful May afternoon and evening.

Maack and senior Erik Anderson ran well in the 110 hurdles. Anderson took second in 14.67, just .03 of a second off his season best that ranks in the top eight in the conference. Sam Duffing (15.34) moved into the top 15 in the conference in the event with his season best.

Junior Morey Smith took third place out of 12 runners in the 1,500 meters and just missed a school record. Smith clocked 3:49.76, less than a second off Kyle Brandon's 2009 record of 3:49.14. Smith's time ranks fourth best in the Summit League.

Junior Colton Halla won the steeplechase in 9:27.93, 16 seconds under his personal best. That time ranks 10th best in the Summit League. Freshman Tony Weeks ran the steeple in 10:20.12, good for 16th best in the conference.

Freshman Jack Rosner lowered his college best in the 400 hurdles. He placed second in 54.32, a time that ranks fourth best in the Summit.

Freshman Gary Abram took third place in the 100 meters in 10.67, just .07 of a second off his collegiate best, a top-six Summit time. Afram's 22-0 3-4 long jump also ranks him in the top 16 in the conference.

Senior Parker Feuerborn placed third in the hammer throw in 198-0. Isaiah Hopf jumped 22-5 3-4 in the long jump for second place, 10 inhces off his season best. 

Junior Maxwell Gifford ran 50.18 for fifth place in the 400 dash -- a time that ranks in the top 15 in the conference. Calvin Bream (50.67) and John Morrison (50.96) also had top-22 Summit League times with season bests.

Charles Caven clocked a season-best 14:55.85 to move into 16th in the conference.


Tommie Women 

St. Thomas Women's Track and Field had a season-best outdoor time to win the 4x400 relay. The quartet of Hannah Cornelius, Hailey Hindt, Molly Reighard and Grace McGuire clocked 3:57.28, sixth best in the Summit League.

The Toms 4x100 took first in 47.99, just .04 off its season best with Taynian Walgrave, Cornelius, Hindt and Reighard.

Cornelius, a freshman, had a hand in four victories. She won the 100 (12.46) and 200 (25.77), both collegiate bests. Her 100 time ranks 18th, and her 200 time ranks 22nd in the Summit League.

St. Thomas had a season-best outdoor time to win the 4x400 relay. The quartet of Cornelius, Hailey Hindt, Molly Reighard and Grace McGuire clocked 3:57.28, sixth best in the Summit League.

The Toms 4x100 took first in 47.99, just .04 off its season best with Taynian Walgrave, Cornelius, Hindt and Reighard.

Reighard took second out of 15 in the 400 hurdles in a season-best 62.09, which ranks fifth best in the Summit League.

Walgrave placed third in the 100 hurdles in 14.53, just .10 off her season best and a top-10 Summit League time.

Sophomore Morgan Ede took fifth in the steeplechase in 11:48.72. That time ranks 13th best in the Summit League. Hannah Burns ran the steeplechase in 12:15.72, the 17th best time in the conference.

Grace McGuire won the 400 dash in 59.17, a season best and a time that ranks 17th in the Summit League.

Freshman Molly Desotell lowered her collegiate best in the 1,500 to 4:40.18 in a sixth-place finish. That time ranks 16th best in the Summit League. Fellow frosh Lauren Ellefson ran a season-best 4:44.40 and has the conference's 19th best time.

Freshman Alyssa Whaley won the javelin throw in 110-11, and freshman Caroline Anderson took second in the high jump in 5-1. Freshman Brianna Schoenrock matched her collegiate best in the pole vault at 10-11 3-4 in fourth place, just behind teammate Olivia Lemke.

Carly Scheuerman clocked a season-best 2:17.82 for seventh in the 800 meters, with Alicia Belany just behind in 2:18.35. Those times rank 20th and 22nd in the Summit League.

Mariana Lehrer had an outdoor best in the triple jump of 35-3 3-4, 17th on the Summit League list.

Sophomore Christina Bolcer (18:14.14) and freshman Ava Pankratz (18:19.43) had top-25 Summit League times in the 5,000 meters.

Maya Carson had a season-best 16-7 1-4 for fifth place in the long jump.

Maddy Dolby placed third in the 100 meters in a season-best time (12.91).


Summit League meet

Both Tommie teams compete May 12-14 in Tulsa, Okla., at the Summit League Championships.
