Women's Tennis suffers 6-1 loss to South Dakota

Bloomington, Minn. - The St. Thomas Women's Tennis Team welcomed the University of South Dakota to the Twin Cities on Saturday. The Tommies fell by a score of 6-1.
"South Dakota was a really competitive team," said Head Coach Lois Arterberry. "It was a tough day on the job especially as we are still battling injuries. We had an opportunity to snag the doubles point but just missed it.
"Olivia was able to play decent tennis coming off injury. Overall we did what we could and we are looking forward to next week our last game of the season as well as senior day. Come out and support our seniors," Arterberry added
In doubles action, the freshman duo of Madeline Bremel and Shrichandrakala Tentu played a tightly contest match in the No. 2 spot, eventually falling by a score of 7-5.
In singles action, sophomore Jannah El Nemr fell by a scores of 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 1 spot. Tentu dropped the No. 2 line by scores of 6-0, 6-0. In her return to action, senior Olivia Paradise played a competitive set in the No. 3 line, but fell by scores of 6-4, 6-3. Sophomore Monterey Knewtson dropped the No. 4 spot 6-3, 6-1, senior Brooke Hapuku fell in the No. 5 line 6-2, 6-0. Freshman Abigail Bremel scored the lone point in the No. 6 spot be forfiet.
The Tommies complete their 2021-22 season next Saturday as they host North Dakota.
