Women’s Golf sees improvement on day 2 of the Summit League Championships

Newton Kan. - The St. Thomas Women's Golf Team saw a six-stroke improvement on the second day of competition at the Summit League Championships.
Freshman Isabelle Lynch jumped from tied for 38th to tied for 25th after a nine-stroke improvement, finishing the second round with a 74 (+2). Junior Claudia Kim saw a four-stroke improvement, finishing the day with a 79 (+7), both scores are Division I-era best scores for each golfer.
"Today we saw overall improvement from the team. To improve overall by six strokes as a team is a real positive," said Head Coach Katie Hanneman. We're very encouraged to see such an improvement from Isabelle and Claudia from the first day. We're excited to see Isabelle crack the top-25 in the tournament."
As a unit, the Purple finished the second round with a team score of 329 and sits in ninth place after two days of competition.
The three other Tommies competing for St. Thomas we're freshman Lauren Contreras (89), sophomore Paige O'Neal (90) and junior Sophia Dooman (87).
The Tommies tee-off the third and final round of action tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m.
