Game Notes - Baseball changes weekend schedule vs. Jackrabbits

Update: Friday, April 1

--

Tommie Baseball (4-14 overall, 1-2 Summit League) is set to play its first home games of the Division I era. But wet field conditions have prompted a change of the three-game series against the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State (6-15, 0-3).

Friday's game here was postponed.

Game one is now set for Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Koch Diamond. The last two games of the series back in St. Paul on campus set for Sunday starting at 11 a.m., at Koch Diamond.

There is no admission charge for St. Thomas home baseball games this season.

The Tommies have incurred 10 one- or two-run losses among their 14 defeats -- all road games. That includes a 1-7 record in games decided by one run.

Likewise, the 6-15 Jackrabbits have been more competitive than their won-loss record would suggest. They have been outscored on average just 7-5 per game this season. SDSU has a 7-5 defeat of Minnesota at U.S. Bank Stadium. It also played Summit League favorite Oral Roberts close last weekend in dropping a three-game road series. The Jackrabbits lost 5-4 in 14 innings on Friday and fell just 10-7 on Sunday.
