Trio of records fall as Tommie Swim & Dive completes SCSU Rochester Invite

St. Paul, Minn. -- St. Thomas Swim & Dive saw another three program records fall Sunday during the conclusion of the SCSU Rochester Invitational in Rochester, Minn. Blake Baertlein, Joe Rudd and Grace Urkiel each broke their own program records as the Tommies finished with eight event wins over the two-meet weekend.

Baertlein broke his own record in the 100 IM with a time of 52.56, taking second in the event.

After breaking the 100 breaststroke record on Saturday, Rudd broke his own 200 breaststroke program record with a time of 1:59.34. He took first in both the 100 and 200 breaststrokes and finished second in the 200 IM with a time of 1:51.65

Urkiel broke the women's 100 breaststroke on Saturday and also broke her own record in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:20.34. She won both breaststroke events and took third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:08.12.

Elizabeth Bonneville grabbed the final event win for the Tommies in the 50 freestyle. Her winning time of 23.87 ranks fifth all-time at St. Thomas, while her preliminary race time of 23.80 ranks third all-time.

St. Thomas will rest before its next scheduled meets Jan. 20 at South Dakota and Jan. 21 at Omaha in Summit League action.
