St. Paul, Minn. – The St. Thomas Women's Basketball team couldn't complete the season sweep over Western Illinois as they fell by a score of 82-67.
After defeating the Leathernecks 66-64 in double overtime on New Year's Day, the Tommies couldn't complete the season sweep over WIU on Saturday despite 41 points from the tandem of grad student F Erin Norling (21) and freshman G Jade Hill (20).
"Congrats to a great Western team," said Head Coach Ruth Sinn. "If you look at them, they first in the Summit League in three-point makes. Last time we played them, we did a much better job taking that away. They came at us, and we kind of got back on our heels. We'll go back to work, understand how to handle that and how we become to aggressors. It's a learning process with us. I'm really proud of our girls and how they're responding. We will take that next step."
