Swimming & Diving honors seniors in dual against Omaha

St. Paul, Minn. - The St. Thomas men's and women's swimming & diving teams returned to the pool for a Summit League showdown against Omaha.

Both the men's and women's teams were defeated on Saturday, with the men's team falling 192-104, and the women's team losing, 208-91.

Alex Foti, a freshman from Waukesha, Wis., raced to first in the 1000 Yard Freestyle. Will Goldman tallied first in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, and teammate Joe Rudd finished second just behind Goldman. Goldman also accomplished a first-place finish in the 200 Yard Breaststroke (2:12.37). Andrew Godfrey, a senior, tallied a second-place tally in the 3 Meter Dive (220.50) and a third-place finish in the 1 Meter Dive (221.15). The men's team finished with two different top-three placing quads in the 400 Yard Medley Relay, finishing second and third. AJ Carollo and Carlo Mallari finished in second and third in the 100 Yard Backstroke, respectively.

Senior Peyton Ekman finished first in the 3 Meter Dive with a score of 254.30, and second in the 1 Meter Dive with a score of 245.95. The quad of Sophie Curran, Grace Urkiel, Anna Astrup, and Megan West tallied second in the 400 Yard Medley Relay. Abby Larson and Ellie Sizemore finished second and third, respectively, in the 1000 Yard Freestyle. Astrup notched second place in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:00.26. Ashley Plantenberg gave the Toms another top-three finish, racing to second in the 100 Yard Breaststroke.
